As a migraine practitioner, Mark has clients from the Gold Coast, Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The following therapies may be beneficial for migraine sufferers:

   o  Take time out each day to do some sort of
   relaxation, such as meditation

   o  Supplement with Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), and  
   Magnesium

   o  Take the herbs Feverfew, Ginger, Butterbur,    
   Rosemary and Ginkgo

   o  Avoid all of the common food triggers:

      *  Canola Oil, Margarine, and heated unsaturated oils
         (eg. cooked olive oil) 
      *  MSG (Monosodium Glutamate), Aspartame, Sodium
          Nitrite and other preservatives, flavours, colours
          and additives 
      *  Beer, Red wine, and most alcohol in general 
      *  Oranges, Strawberries, Avocados 
      *  Gluten 
      *  Eggs 
      *  Food that is high on the Glycemic Index (or GI)
          scale, such as Dates, 
      *  Pesticides (eg. consumption of non-organic foods) 
      *  Soy, Cheese, Chocolate, Yoghurt and most other
          dairy 
      *  Coffee, Guarana and other energy drinks 
      *  Any meat that is not organic 
      *  Chewing gum 
      *  Cooking with teflon coated cookware 
      *  Drinking out of plastic bottles 
      *  Microwave cooked food 

Determine any food allergies, then avoid those foods. An accurate test can be performed by specialist laboratories - ARL and Path Lab.

They perform a test for specific IgG antibodies within the blood, which may indicate the presence of food allergies, for example: pineapple, mango, cheese, eggs. For an example of the type of results you may expect from this type of blood test, click here.

   o  Enagage in stress reduction exercises, such as    
    meditation, Tai Chi, exercise, etc.

   o  Consume regular, small meals to help balance sugar
    levels, and reduce the risk of hypoglycemia

   o  Acupuncture, Spinal Manipulation and physical 
   therapies may useful. These could include massage,  
   shiatsu, reflexology, physiotherapy, osteopathy,
   chiropractic, and more.

   o  Get asessed for Helicobacter Pylori infection of
   the stomach (via a simple 13C-urea breath test). A  
   clinical trial of 225 migraine patients found 40  
   percent of them to be carrying the H. pylori.
   After treatment, the intensity, duration, and  
   frequency of migraine attacks was found to have  
   reduced significantly.

   o  Some homeopathic remedies may be able to assist in
   the reduction of headaches. Specifically Bryonia,
   Belladona, Sangunaria, Spigelia, Glonoine, Iris  
   Vir, Natrum Mur, Colocynth, Mag Phos, Aconite,
   Sepia, Gelsemium, Kali Carb, Cimicifuga.
